The Michael C. Czichotzki Learning Center in Moorhead, Minnesota.

The Michael W. Czichotzki Learning Center (MCLC) was established to honor the memory of Michael W. Czichotzki, a beloved client of Access who passed away in November 2007. Though deeply missed, Michael's legacy of positively impacting the lives of others lives on through the MCLC. Inspired by his spirit, the center was created to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of many.

The MCLC serves as a hub for various programs and services offered by Access, providing an ideal space for both educational and recreational activities that benefit all clients.

Michael was born on November 12, 1971, in Fargo, ND, to Mark and LaVerne (Wee) Czichotzki. He grew up in Moorhead, where he attended school, graduating in 1993. From the age of 13, Michael received residential services from Access of the Red River Valley. Despite facing numerous challenges, he met them with courage and the unwavering support of Access staff and advocates. His kindness, resilience, and impact on those around him remain cherished.

A memorial fund has been established in Michael’s honor. Donations to the Michael W. Czichotzki Fund support the ongoing services, activities, and projects at the Michael W. Czichotzki Learning Center, ensuring his legacy continues to inspire and uplift others.
